Yes — but it's preventable. Lice spread through head-to-head contact, including selfies, shared screens, and sleepovers. Your child may have lice 2–4 weeks before you notice any itching. Check hair within 48 hours of drop-off using our How to Check guide.
Check within 48 hours of drop-off using a metal nit comb in good lighting. Nits are yellowish to dark brown and attached firmly to the hair shaft — not white and not dandruff. Use our Pre-Camp Checklist for the full guide.
Don't panic. Follow our Action Plan — chemical shampoos don't kill nits. Manual removal with a proper metal comb is the only method that works. The Simplicety kit includes everything you need.
