A few targeted items make a measurable difference in keeping lice out of camp.
Hair Tools
Pack and label a personal brush, comb, and plenty of hair ties. A fine-tooth metal nit comb in case the camp nurse needs it. Nothing shared with cabin-mates.
Hair Style Tip
Long hair makes for a bigger target. Encourage your child to keep long hair up as much as possible. A braid, bun, or high ponytail is the best daily defense against head-to-head contact.
Pro Tip from Pete
When your child comes home from camp, do a good comb-based head check just to make sure they didn't pick anything up. Catching it right away keeps it from spreading to the rest of the household.
